Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s 2015 staff survey results are better than average in almost all areas and help rank the trust as one of the top 100 best places to work in the NHS (Health Service Journal). SCFT is the first NHS organisation in Sussex to be a ‘Living Wage Employer’.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

At Time to Talk Health we’re seeing remarkable outcomes as we break down barriers between physical and mental health. As a dedicated IAPT service providing truly integrated working with patients with long term health conditions, we now have an excellent opportunity for a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our innovative team in West Sussex. As part of Time to Talk, a high performing flagship service within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, you’ll be able to develop your skills in one of the leading service providers of psychological interventions in the country.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Practitioner to work with patients with anxiety and/or depression alongside a range of comorbid physical health problems. Based within a team of low and high intensity staff who specialise in long term conditions, alongside your clinical duties you'll also contribute to developing partnerships and pathways as our service expands.  Working with Step 3 and Step 2 colleagues combining face-to-face, telephone and digital interventions, you'll collaborate with physical healthcare teams from various Providers in order to improve patient outcomes. You'll find no two days the same as you work clinically alongside patients and health care professionals as well as having the opportunity to facilitate psycho educational courses and attend events to promote the service.

You'll receive regular high quality clinical supervision from a qualified Senior Practitioner, further training in working with patients with long term conditions and support to develop joint working practices. You will also have the opportunity to work with CBT Therapists, Clinical Health Psychologists and other IAPT workers.

Based in Worthing and working across coastal West Sussex you'll need to be a car driver and willing to travel to different sites as required as well as provide some evening work.  For the right candidate this is a unique and innovative opportunity from which to develop skills and experience.

Please note we welcome applications from Trainees who anticipate qualifying in the near future. Candidates who are awaiting results may be recruited on Band 4 and uplifted to Band 5 when evidence of successful qualification is provided. This is a qualified position and may be withdrawn if course failed.
