Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s 2015 staff survey results are better than average in almost all areas and help rank the trust as one of the top 100 best places to work in the NHS (Health Service Journal). SCFT is the first NHS organisation in Sussex to be a ‘Living Wage Employer’.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service in West Sussex (Sussex Community Foundation NHS Trust) are recruiting to a permanent part-time Band 5 post; 0.6wte, mixed Early Years and Mainstream Schools in the Chichester locality. We are in a position to offer an additional 0.4wte on a fixed term contract/bank basis to the end of July 2018 within the same clinical areas.

This post offers an ideal opportunity for a Newly Qualified Therapist to gain the first year competencies in a supportive and friendly team. As a member of the Early Years Team you will work out of Community Clinic bases in local  Health Centres and Child and Family Centres and as a member of the Mainstream Team you will be the Link Therapist for a number of schools. Both teams provide support to children and families at a Universal, Targeted and Specialist level, training parents/carers and settings’ staff, assessing, advising and providing therapy to children on our busy caseloads.

We have well-established supervision arrangements and access to further education and training funding within the Trust. As one of the largest Community Foundation Trusts in the country there are a range of opportunities for working in a variety of teams.

These posts will be managed by the West Locality Speech and Language Therapy Managers. Please contact either of us for further information.

Applicants must be registered with HCPC and an enhanced DBS check will be required.
