Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s 2015 staff survey results are better than average in almost all areas and help rank the trust as one of the top 100 best places to work in the NHS (Health Service Journal). SCFT is the first NHS organisation in Sussex to be a ‘Living Wage Employer’.
The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join Central’s Responsive Services Neuro Speciality (RSNS) within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT). The post reflects SCFT’s commitment to developing psychologically informed care to adults living with diagnosed progressive neurological or non-progressive brain injury.
The team is based in Rose Wing at Horsham Hospital and is part of Responsive Services. RSNS is a multi-professional team and includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietician, Assistant Psychologist and Rehabilitation Assistants. There are close working relationships with inpatient settings including inpatient rehab, with other community teams and services and local charities.
The team focus is to provide specialist neuro assessment, Early Supported Discharge (ESD) for stroke patients, rehabilitation and therapy to adults living with diagnosed acquired or progressive neurological conditions within their own homes. Rehabilitation is based on a goal orientated approach, with goals for treatment and intervention agreed between the patient and therapists within the Team.
Experience of working therapeutically with clients with progressive neurological or non-progressive brain injury and of using a range of neuropsychological assessments and interventions is preferred. The ability to work flexibly, work autonomously and cope with high levels of clinical demand is essential.
