Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s 2015 staff survey results are better than average in almost all areas and help rank the trust as one of the top 100 best places to work in the NHS (Health Service Journal). SCFT is the first NHS organisation in Sussex to be a ‘Living Wage Employer’.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

The SCFT immunisation service has a vacancy for a 24 hour per week band 5 immunisation nurse. This post will be predominantly based in the Chichester area but will cover all of the SCFT area for immunisations. The hours are 08.00 - 16.30 on three set days.

The SCFT Immunisation Team is looking for a Registered Nurse to be part of their innovative and dynamic team dedicated to improving immunisation uptake and delivering the schools’ based immunisation programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity as the role encompasses responsibility for clinical delivery and patient safety, specialist advice on immunisation issues and the opportunity to develop skills in both independent and team working.

The role will include working in schools, clinics and family homes with children, young people and babies to deliver vaccinations in a safe and professional way. Engagement with hard to reach groups such as travellers and children who are looked after is another aspect of the teams remit and the band 5 responsibilities will include supporting this work in the community. The ability to communicate well and remain calm under pressure is essential.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly and co-operatively with colleagues within their own team and wider multidisciplinary teams across the whole SCFT area. As the team work over the whole of the SCFT immunisation service area staff must be willing to travel within this area and be a car owner/driver.

Interview Date: Friday 2nd November 2018
